Authors: | Tam, Kwok Lun |
Department: | Department of Electronic Engineering |
Issue Date: | 2014 |
Supervisor: | Supervisor: Dr. LAU, Ricky W H; Assessor: Dr. Wong, K W |
Abstract: | This project involves two major tasks: (i) to develop a positioning system with the aid of a camera for a car, and (ii) to develop an Android app for defining a path for the car to follow. The camera is mounted on top of the ceiling and it is connected to a PC. The car is labelled with a distinguished color. The video fed to the PC will be analyzed for determining the car's position from this distinguished color. The Android app for a tablet allows user to draw the path for the car. The path information will be sent to the car for maneuvering through Wi-Fi. The Android app provides a graphical interface for user to monitor the system status. |
