dc.description.abstract | Computer games have gained the popularity since 1980s. Recent years, with the development of technology and economy, most people own their personal computers, which bring the popularity of PC games to an unprecedented high level. The marketing growth makes the gaming industry develop rapidly. More and more game companies had transitioned famous games over into 3D. However, there are unique charms of 2D games that can never be replaced. Therefore, the main purpose of this project is to introduce the procedure of building a 2D platformer computer game in Unity, including the details of tools and C# coding and game designs to analysis why it is still attractive. For developers, comparing to 3D games, 2D games are easier to prototype and visualize. For players, 2D games are easier to get started, which means to get more fun with simpler control. Building a game by game engine is efficient. It provides a game framework and the software environment for developers to build games. This project is based on Unity. The tools greatly reduce the developing time and cost. | en_US |
