In this final year project, a new design of compact filtering antenna composed of multiple print circuit board (PCB) filter and passive patch radiator is proposed and implemented. The antenna addresses the applications using industrial, scientific, and medical radio band (ISM band) at 2.4 GHz to 2.5GHz. Traditional filter-antenna which consists of the problems of large size and high loss connects the filter and the antenna to form the structure. The new design of the filtering antenna solves the mentioned problems which are critical to various applications. The proposed filtering antenna also contains a better function of out of band rejection. Reconfigurability is possible in the testing frequency range. The antenna design is simulated by ANSYS High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS). The experimental measuring result is conducted with the network analyzer, the Satimo 3D Antenna Measurement System, and the StarLab BTS equipment. The measured result is consistent with the simulated result.en_US
