I believe the popularity of GE1329 (the past 2 times that it was offered, 234 total students enrolled in the course is due to the up-to-date case studies about technology presented in class which emphasizes modern applications of technology products relevant to the current overall student population. As a mechanism to maintain the popularity and relevance of this course, I will use the project funding to hire up to 6 of the "aspiring stars," who already completed GE1329 and received at least a grade of A- or above, each summer for 8 weeks. In order to maintain the appeal of this course to non-engineering students, I will give preference to non-CSE majors. Each student will be guided to research and prepare a case study for the course based on their interests with respect to the GE1329 course. I plan to use at least 2 of these new case studies to refresh the content of the course each year. I am requesting enough funding to run this project for 2 summers (Summer 2014 and Summer 2015).en_US
