Commencement Date: | 30/06/2014 |
Completion Date: | 04/12/2015 |
Abstract: | In line with CityU’s Discovery-enriched Curriculum (DEC), this project aims to equip POL’s outbound exchange students with the attitude and ability to discover new knowledge, communicate it effectively, and present it creatively. With a critical mindset and a self-directed learning attitude, students will be guided to explore the cultural milieu, a policy of their respective host countries when they are on exchange overseas. With their knowledge in public policy, students will examine how and why do polices differ between Hong Kong and his/her host country. The exploration aims to explain policy diversities from two main perspectives: the cultural diversities and the different institutional configurations. Before the departure of their exchange journey, students will identify the policy area, the theme, and the method of their comparative study. When overseas in their host countries, students will record their cultural discoveries and policy exploration on e-platforms. After their return to CityU, students will present their discoveries, innovations, and learning outcomes creatively via the digital media, which could be shared with peers as DEC showcases. With a discovery-led mindset and the ability for creative expressions, our students will be equipped with the essential skills for the 21st century. |
