The Project is an instructional DVD program for use in the Course Trial Advocacy PLE5052 in the PCLL Programme. Students in this Course are required to undertake an activity in which they conduct an examination-in-chief and cross-examination in a criminal matter in the District Court. They may also be assessed in this as part of a broad menu of assessments in this course. As part of their teaching and learning activities in relation to this skill, students have viewed a DVD in their Lecture of a training video on examination-in-chief and cross-examination produced in the UK by the Inns of Court. However, there is currently no DVD available that has been produced in Hong Kong and deals with Hong Kong evidence and procedure. While the current UK demonstration of the practitioners is very valuable in demonstrating in a very comprehensive manner how students should undertake examination-in-chief and cross-examination in a criminal matter there will be a benefit in producing a Hong Kong centric DVD on the same topic as not only is more jurisdictionally relevant, but students can view it a number of times if it is put on the university intra-net.en_US
