Abstract: | The project aims to strengthen students’ computer literacy via Python-related courseware and courses. Python evolves to be a widely-used programming language for web development, big data analysis and financial analysis. Equipped with modules on traditional statistical analysis, mathematical analysis, text mining and data mining, Python easily help students discover new knowledge from complex data and convert their knowledge to be web/mobile apps. The courses to be developed will be one GE course for non-programmers and several advanced courses that facilitate students to apply Python programming in Management Science, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Social Sciences and/or Linguistics. Courseware will include an online learning platform, customized user’s manuals and video demonstrations. These courses will help students discover new knowledge via complex data analysis, identify opportunities for knowledge commercialization, and create web/mobile apps for application of knowledge. |
