| dc.description.abstract | 3D printing is one of the latest teleology nowadays. In order to follow the trend in the world, I decided to take 3D printer to be my final year project. For each extruder, only one filament can be used, therefore the product of the printer is single color with same material. My final year project is aimed at improving the 3D printer from single extruder to double extruders. I decided to use two PCBs to meet my target. One broad acts as the master; while the other broad acts as the slave. To generate a 2-color file, a G-code generator is needed. It can merge two single-color files, one will be printed by extruder 1 and the other will be printed by extruder 2. Two extruders in the same x-axis were built which have few cm distances between. When printing a file with 2 colors, set the coordinates of both extruders exactly in the computer is needed. The product can have 2 colors or 2 materials, it is the improvement of the 3D printer. | en_US |
