Adaptive beamforming system is the technology to steer the beam toward the target. In general, two adaptive algorithms are widely used for beamforming system. The first one is Recursive Least Squares (RLS) which provides fast convergence. Another is Least Mean Squares (LMS) algorithms which has good radiation pattern. The new scheme named Comparative Least Squares (CLS) algorithm is devised from the project which based on the studies of RLS and LMS. The aim of CLS is to overcome the problems of existing algorithm which are sensitivity to the variation of signal-to-noise ratio and undesired output due to changing angle. Based on the simulation results, the overall error of CLS is smaller than that of the original methods. Also, compared to RLS and LMS, CLS is insensitive to the variation of noise. Due to this factor, a threshold value is added into the CLS for better tracking performance and the results demonstrate the improvement.en_US
