Abstract: | The aim of this project was to design a tablet enabling the use of common wireless communication channels in varies systems launched in the market. In the project, a dual band tablet antenna worked under 690MHz - 960MHz for low frequency band and 1.71GHz - 2.69GHz for high frequency band respectively was proposed. It consisted of two main parts of directed-fed monopole and coupled-fed monopole which controlled the performance of the antenna under two frequency ranges was presented. The proposed antenna design aimed at meeting the basic criteria of antenna performance such as -6dB return loss level, radiation pattern and efficiency. The monopole was fed by a 50Ω coaxial cable. The antenna excited seven frequency modes, including 0.694GHz, 0.857 GHz, 0.946GHz, 1.935GHz, 2.175GHz, 2.342GHz and 2.69GHz bands. The proposed antenna was printed on a PCB with the relative permittivity of 4.4. The dimension of the proposed antenna was 87.9 x 24 x 1.6 mm3 with the ground plane of 200 mm x 150 mm. Therefore, the design could be implemented and applied in tablet computers. |
