Abstract: | In the summer training, there is a chance to build and use a 3D printer which is bought from TaoBao. It inspires me about the 3D printer and selects the 3D printer as my Final Year Project topic. My final year project is focusing on adding a Bluetooth function into the 3D printer. Most of the 3D printers in the market are connected by the USB cable between the computer and the printer. Therefore, the printer should be placed near to the computer because of the length of the USB cable. Hence, a wireless method should be applied to replace the USB cable. Bluetooth technology is applied to replace the USB cable in this project. Although the range of Wi-Fi is wider than the Bluetooth, it is more secure than the Wi-Fi. There is slave and master policy in Bluetooth technology. The computer should be matched with the 3D printer before the transmission between two devices. A PIN password and a Bluetooth module are required during the matching process. After the process, the PIN password and module will be required anymore. Therefore, the security problem can be solved. As a result, Bluetooth will be instead of the Wi-Fi in the project. |
