dc.description.abstract | Learning is a lifelong process. It is very often to enroll in tests and examinations for evaluating the ability. In schools, teachers always provide comments and help students to learn from mistakes, so as to improve students' abilities. In a traditional way, it is obvious to determine students' abilities by comparing the total scores of each student. However, it is not enough for analyzing students' abilities only by viewing their test marks or grades, since the content of questions may affect students answering the questions. This paper thus attempts to investigate the stability and credibility of each student's ability and question's difficulty. Rasch Model is one of the measurement systems that contain several mathematical equations, which is employed from the Item Response Theory (IRT). By using the obtained marks from students and the questions' information as the raw data, and using the probability calculation in Rasch Model, the validity of each student's ability and question's difficulty, as well as reliability of the estimation under Rasch Model can be obtained. From this point of view, this helps provide a more accurate evaluation of students and the questions' setting. This paper will introduce an application that helps teachers analyze students' abilities conveniently and effectively. This is a mobile application called as "Rasch Model App" which allows launching on android mobile devices, as well as android tablets. Teachers can observe the results by viewing an Item-Person maps which indicates as a "big picture" on both students and question items. Also, the statistical outcomes will also be displayed for references. | en_US |
