Abstract: | The resistor is one of the most common components in circuit design. It can reduce the current flow and maintain a constant ratio between voltage and current. However, after considering the loss in resistor when it works, most of the losses are undesirable for designers. This report focuses on how to use open loop BJT control Buck Converter and Buck-boost Convertor to generate a similar effect as a resistor that maintains a constant ratio between voltage and current but with less loss. Simulation and experimental data will be given to support the design feasibility. Furthermore, a comparison between the convertors in efficient and voltage influence at DC and AC conditions will be provided. At last, there is a discussion of the limitation of the design with some possible solutions. |
