Authors: Tong, Wai Kwok
Department: Department of Electronic Engineering
Issue Date: 2013
Supervisor: Supervisor: Prof. Chan, C H; Assessor: Prof. Leung, K W
Abstract: As the technology is changing rapidly, it is necessary to have more innovation on the existing technologies to advance our daily life. The extremely high data rate antenna working in 300GHz frequency, which is fabricated in this project, is one of the high gain antennas which consist of a driven radiator (dipole) and a reflector. The aims of this project are a) Design an antenna for 300GHz frequency range, b) Explore and implement the fabrication process. By the software (HFSS) simulation, the S-Parameter, radiation pattern and gain of the antenna will be presented. However, this kind of high frequency (approaching to terahertz) antenna is a new study, therefore, it does not have much relevant information on it including the model design and fabrication process. It is hard to stimulate and fabrication it perfectly within a year.
