This project report describes the hardware and software design for the elderly phone. Although the phones support many features nowadays, it is still not suitable for some people, especially for the elderly. The underlying problems of todays' mobile phones used by elderly people are also stated in this report. In order to address the problems they faced, elderly phones with specific features are therefore designed. In this project, hardware parts were designed with a number of components and ICs by using Protel99 SE. Development was done using C program under the platform MPLab IDE. The operating system used is RTOS to develop the phone system. The OS needs not to be so complicated and it should be simple that suits elderly's people usage.en_US
