dc.description.abstract | An electronic book (e-book) is a book-length publication in digital form, in which consists of various kind of text and multimedia. Nowadays, it is not uncommon to see people using their smartphones or tablets to read e-books and magazines in café, MTR, etc. In May of 2012, the Hong Kong Government also showed their interest in developing e-book for primary students. It is no doubt, that people are changing their habit of reading books from books which made of papers to digital e-books which are colourful and interactive. There are many mobile platforms prevalent in the market now, like iOS, Android. However, there will be a powerful desktop/mobile platform coming up in 2013 - the Windows 8. We are going to develop a new e-book authoring and reader system which fits the metro style of Windows 8. In this project, we aim to provide users a brand new user experience on using their electronic devices to author or read books. | en_US |
