Abstract: | As the visitors have the situation that they cannot the destination in the City University of Hong Kong. It is convenient for them if there is a guide to lead them to a right way. This project is aim to produce an automotive car to achieve this function, that is to guide the user to their designated position in City University of Hong Kong. The project is divided into three parts. The first part contains a development boards called BeagleBoard. The Android platform board is built by BeagleBoard, projected capacitive touch panel, LCD display, Wi-Fi module and SD card. The BeagleBoard uses I2C interface to communicate with the touch screen panel and LCD display. As the BeagleBoard does not have any connector but has available pins to plus-in them. Expansion Board is designed to act as intermediaries to complete the communication between BeagleBoard and LPC1768. For the second part, it contains control board of the automatic car. LPC1768 is using GPIO pins to communicate with IR sensors that are placed on each corner of the automatic car. LPC1768 also provides the signal to the Maxon motor driver through Digital-to-Analogue Converter, and then to produce the related voltage level to the motors to control the wheels' motion. For handle the angle of the automatic car, LPC1768 is using the I2C interface to communicate with compass to receive the current angle of the car. The third part is to modify the BeagleBoard kernel and produce Wi-Fi connection. This board also is to develop them communication with LPC1768, touch screen and LCD display. |
