dc.description.abstract | Multiple-access interference (MAI) and unknown channel state information (CSI) are two of the major problems which degrade the performance of wireless communication systems. Recently a new type of multiple-access scheme which employs chip level interleaving was proposed by number of CityU researches. It has been called Interleave-division multiple-access (IDMA) because users are separated by means of different chip-level interleaver for different users. The overall computational complexity of IDMA grows only linearly with the number of users. Moreover it can support more users at the same time compared with uncoded CDMA. CDMA performance is suffering from MAI and channel noise, while performance of IDMA is limited by channel noise only. The precise discussion about the performance of joining coded IDMA and channel estimation (CE) has been made while the uncoded one will be studied in this final year project. | en_US |
