Development of Learning Resource Repository for Information Security and Management

Abstract

A good learning resource repository can help both teaching and learning. This learning resource may be in the form of learning objects in various formats. A rich and well-organized learning resource repository may provide students with easy access to focused learning resources and thus, may provide motivation for students to learn. The courses relating to Information Security and Management become more and more popular. The subject involves abstract technical and managerial concepts. There are many different types of information scattered around and it is difficult to organize demonstration sessions for a large amount of students. lt is desirable to prepare a learning resource repository for both teaching and learning in this area. This project aims to construct a learning resource repositOiy for Information Security and Management. The proposed repository may consist of a framework (management model) [I] for organizing learning objects of different formats into different concepts. These learning objects may help students better understanding the abstract concepts and their relationship. Feedback from students may help to improve the quality of selected learning objects.
