Abstract: | The Purpose of this project is to develop an Online Electronic Duty System [OEDS] for volunteer duty / call centre, the aims of the system are to improve the working efficiency and reduce the staff work load and help the staff to easily arrange the schedule. The OEDS includes three parts: (1) The web base parts for volunteer online to self-arrange their duty schedule (Web Duty Schedule System [WDSS]). Software: VB.NET / ASP.NET and Microsoft SQL Server The WDSS was built using the ASP.NET (VB.NET) design, running on Internet Information Server (IIS) to provide a user-friendly and simple interface, all volunteer duty record will be stored in Microsoft SQL SERVER database. That function includes online duty booking, user personal info setting, automatic remind email services, information sharing area (Leader), view duty status by day/Month/Group, report duty status by Monthly/ year / individual voluntee. (2) SMS automatically on duty reminder system (SMS): Software: C# and Microsoft SQL Server Hardware: Nokia GSM phone Modem / GSM modem with RS232 communication. SMS system use C# to development and design. That function is to have two days reminder before the on duty day, which communicate with RS232 port to send the message via GSM provider. (3)Smart Card Logging System (SCLS) Software: C# and Microsoft SQL server Hardware: Mifare Reader / Mifare Smart card The SCLS is a windows-base system and running in the volunteer centre, which includes Smart Card to record volunteer on duty log in and log out record, based on these data to create the report and pay allowance and create / delete / modify volunteer record. The staff of the volunteer centre can accord data of volunteer on web to make the corresponding work and planning. The systematic of the online duty pre-booking operation can improve and the staff’s workload will be decreased which can reduce the manpower. |
