Abstract: | In recent years, the technology of Ultra-wideband is widely adopted in many aspects such as imaging system, radar system as well as the communication system. UWB is potentially powerful technology for low complexity, low cost, multi-path and jamming immunity and high data rate communication. In this report, a band-pass filter with its frequency band within 5 – 7 GHz was selected for detail analysis. The proposed filter employs parallel-coupled microstrip band-pass filter shunted with a dual-band stub which consists of an open-end stub and Compact Microstrip Resonating Cell (CMRC). To compare the feasibility of this filter, 10 different patterns are simulated and measured with Network Analyser for comparison. The results of these study show that the operation of proposed filter can produce wide band, sharper rejection band and size reduction when compare with the conventional filter. The reasons for better performance of the proposed filter were discussed and presented in this report. |
