dc.description.abstract | This project proposes an adaptive algorithm aiming to improve the energy efficiency of mobile networks. It also provides a simulation tool to evaluate a network's performance. The simulation is based on a Markov Chain model that takes user mobility into account. An adaptive algorithm which can change capacity according to a variety of traffic patterns is designed. A real time traffic distribution is employed to analyze the performance of this algorithm in terms of energy consumption. Simulation results are showed to indicate that a significant amount of energy can be saved while keeping quality of service (QoS) satisfied. Further challenges are raised concerning the interference problem. | en_US |
