Abstract: A video on demand system provides an efficient way to the user. Through the systems, the user could choose their desired videos when they want. This report is a performance study of the distributed VOD systems with bandwidth constraint. Under the assumption of the fully meshed network, an analytical model is proposed where the servers are connected by transmission links and the request from the viewer at each node is in Poisson arrival with the negative exponential service time. The model is used to determine the blocking probability with reduced dimension and number of states of Markov chain.
