dc.description.abstract | Mobile phones are essential tools for wireless communication nowadays, and there is a great concern for many people that the mobile phone's radiation would be harmful to the human bodies. The antenna of mobile phones is one of the main factors dictating the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), which is an index quantifying the radiation and the rate of absorption of energy in biological tissue of human head. This project looks into the ground plane design of the mobile phone’s patch antenna, and focuses on the effect of various ground plane configurations on SAR values. The study is carried out by both experimental and computational methods. Results have shown that the presence of vertical ground plane and difference locations of patch could exercises significant influence on both the SAR value and antenna performance. | en_US |
