Abstract: | Switches, like MOSFET, in a power supply are in hard switching, they have power loss during the turn-on and turn-off time. The snubber can help to improve the turn-on and turn-off transients by provide zero current turned on like zero-current switching (ZCS) and zero voltage turned off like zero-voltage switching (ZVS). As a result, the power loss can be greatly reduced and the efficiency can be improved. My project is to implement a snubber circuit into the inverter to improve the efficiency problems and reduce the switching loss. The snubber circuit has been successfully applied to the DC/AC inverter circuit. The DC input is 250V and the required AC output is 110Vrms, the efficiency is up to 98.1%. Apart from the effect of snubber, performance and efficiency of inverter are affected by the others factors. It can be solved by using a suitable components or using a blocking diode. |
