dc.description.abstract | Inside a computer network (i.e. scale-free or regular), virus brings damage and anti-virus soft-ware/service brings protectioni. The trade-off between being attacked by virus and paying mon-ey to get protection is usually evaluated by the network administrator or/and individuals in-side/consist of the network. In our presented models, the trade-off is evaluated by each individual inside the network and each individual makes its own decision of using anti-virus software/service or not. Overall, the popularity of the anti-virus software/service (i.e. how many individuals will even-tually use anti-virus software/service) is affected by the topology of the network, properties of the software/service and properties of the virus. This project studies the relationship between the popularity of the anti-virus software/service and the things we think have effect on it. | en_US |
