Global position system (GPS) modules available in the market can provide the (x,y,z) co-ordinates of a targeted source. In practice, there are several sources of error that can affect the accuracy of a GPS-derived position coordinates such as errors due to atmospheric delays and clock errors, etc. In this project, with make use of a GPS receiver, both stationary targeted source and moving targeted source real-time data measurements are performed. And methods are developed to process the data measurements to improve the localization performance. Besides that, this project will develop a Least Squares estimation in pseudorange-based equations for GPS position calculation. From simulation, it is found that the Least Squares estimation can reach the Cramer-Rao Lower Bound.en_US
