In past few years, the field of the power electronics has experienced a large growth because of confluence of several factors. The controller consisting of linear integrated circuits and digital signal processors has make it possible to significantly improve the voltage and current capabilities and the switching speeds of power semiconductor devices. In fact, there are several different control methods in the power electronic system. Different control method would have different output performance and steady ability. In my project, I would develop the digital buck converter which can be controlled by the formulated switching surface, so that the converter can perform a better performance and have a better steady state. I would implement 2 kinds of control methods to control the buck converter. These two control method are 1st order switching surface PI control and 2nd order switching surface boundary control. PI controller is one of control method which is wildly used in industrial control system, since it can provide constant output voltage. However, this control method still can not provide very stable output when it has load change. Therefore, second order boundary control of buck converter should be used, since this control method can provide better steady state & transient output voltage. In this project, I would investigate what different performance between these two control methods.en_US
