Abstract: | This abstract presents a technique using a RF(radio frequency) receiver as a radar system to detect the direction of object. This project include and RF receiver, phase comparator and micro-controller. The object direction can be estimated by the phase different between elements in an antenna array. The signal with phase different will pass into the phase comparator to obtain the phase different information. The phase different information will be read by the MCU (micro-controller) and MCU will use the phase information to do the calculation. After the calculation by MCU, the direction of the object can be estimated. The final result will be visualized on the LCD display. This project can be separated into two parts: The RF front end and baseband signal processing. The RF front end includes antenna, low noise amplifiers, mixers, power divider and oscillator which are used to convert the radio frequency into intermediate frequency. For the baseband part, it contains AGC (automatic gain control) circuit, phase detector and micro-controller which are responsible for processing the received signals. The application of the signal direction detection radar can be used to locate the object direction. |
