Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) is the mighty wireless standard based upon the IEEE 802.16 standard dispatching the last mile wireless broadband access. It is one of the potential candidates for the 4G Network recognizing by International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Great benefits would be certainly brought forth if the Voice over IP (VoIP) is emerged. As a result, this project aims to evaluate the performance of the Quality of Services (QoS) at the Media Access Control layer (MAC) of the Voice over IP (VoIP) application platform. VoIP application requires the highest precedence of bandwidth allocation, reliability and other services indispensability among all the services types. Several QoS parameters like, MOS score, end-to-end delay, jitter and packet loss according to International Telecommunication Union (ITU) standard are utilized to justify the performance of this application on the WiMAX network. Assorted simulation scenarios are originated for scrutinizing the optimum profiles for the VoIP application deployed on the WiMAX network among THREE real-time service types. Profiles of optimal Voice Codec with the favourable packetization interval upon real time service type over WiMAX network are figured out after extensive simulations. Moreover, performance on various Queue Scheduling Algorithms combinations with the VoIP applications is examined. In addition, try to evaluate the improvement of QoS if the Active Queuing Management Algorithm is deployed.en_US
