| dc.description.abstract | This project aims to develop an open source English-to-Chinese dictionary for both WinCE and Win32 platforms. The dictionary is named PoDict, which stands for Portable Dictionary. Besides user-friendly interface and basic functions of an electronic dictionary, PoDict has provided learning kit and word game. In addition, it also supports English speech synthesis feature. PoDict is written in programming language Microsoft Embedded Visual C++ and Visual C++. The searching algorithm for dictionary is Binary Search, which enhanced a good performance on look up speed. In short, PoDict can be used as a dictionary, a learning kit and at the same time, an essay reading companion. | en_US |
