Abstract: With the increasing growth of the Virtual Reality technology, many powerful 3D Virtual Reality worlds or scenes are available on the Internet. Last two years, an impressive virtual Ocean Park had been developed by three students. Therefore, this year project aims to build another famous building in Hong Kong, namely, Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), which is among the busiest airports in the world and firmly cements Hong Kong’s position as an aviation hub. Three levels are built in this virtual airport including level 5 (Arrivals), level 7 (Check-in & Airline Lounges) and level 8 (Departures Kerb & Restaurants). There is also an airplane runway, having static and animated airplanes. All the objects are modeled according to their actual shapes with innovative modifications. Hyperlinks and interactive elements are also available in this VR world. This project is both informative and creative. By means of 3D modeling language VRML and JavaScript programming skills, a virtual airport is developed with interactive, creative and innovative features.
