Abstract: | The aim of the project is to develop a secure disk storage based on ARM-core microprocessor. The secure technology chosen for the cryptology is Advance Encryption Standard, AES in short. It is commonly used in nowadays cryptology. Basically, the project requires the knowledge on manipulating the ARM board and handling the AES encryption and decryption programs. In order to successfully implement the project, a piece of program/application should be run by ARM board, which is able to communicate with the USB device. Meanwhile, it also handles the AES algorithm. In the project, I have successfully implemented the AES algorithm by using C language. It is capable to handle cipher key with 128,192 and 256bit length. And the board is now equipped with ARM-Embedded Linux (a type of operating system) so that it is possible to establish the communication between the USB device and the application program. To enable the source program to be run on ARM-Embedded Linux platform, a couple of studies related to Kernel Building, file system management, and the compilation of ARM-Linux application have been made. At this stage, the program has been tested with different types of files for both encryption and decryption. |
