dc.description.abstract | VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol. Telephone wire is no longer the only medium for real time voice communication; it can now be achieved through the internet. The popularity of VoIP is growing and it is likely to become one of the most important technologies in the telecommunication industry in the near future. The reason for choosing Java for this project is for its cross platform compatibility such as PC, MAC, PDA, etc. Moreover, the VoIP application can be easily accessed from the web by building it as applet and the fast growing Wi-Fi technology is providing a very good environment for it. | en |
