Abstract: | The main supply voltage is nominally 220v. However, in China, the mains voltage regulation is quite poor that the phase voltage can reach 230V during day-time but 250V during night-time. In this project, a closed-loop controlled buck converter and PWM controller are introduced to develop the main supply 220V regulator. Through this regulator, the over-voltage situation can be improved as well as the power consumption of many electrical loads can be reduced. The performance and the efficiency are then be confirmed by practical measurement. As an extension to the project, the closed-loop controlled design provides extra dimming function to the lighting system. This extra dimming function has been practically confirmed in the project. |
