Battery power is a valuable asset to operate portable computers, like laptop and PDA, in mobile computing. Nevertheless, the technology in battery has not critically improved. Since wireless applications are being widely used and TCP is a popular protocol in wireless networking, thus a research on improving energy efficiency of the TCP over wireless network is feasible. With respect to this research project, the report consists of a review of TCP, which intends to remind you. An analysis of shortcomings of the TCP and recommended modifications are listed. Then, a new experimental transport protocol Wave & Wait Protocol (WWP) is introduced for comparison of energy efficiency with others and a description of simulation model is provided. Furthermore, the simulation statistical results are used to compare the energy saving performance of traditional TCP, enhanced TCP and WWP in various scenarios. Finally, the deliverable of this project certainly is an energy efficient protocol with a proof and comprehensive report.en
