Abstract: The object of this project is to analyze and model the nonlinear behavior of tube amplifier and the results will then be used to design an electric guitar synthesizer. The current commercial model in tube modeling can only model the amplitude non-linearity of the tube amplifier. However, the real tube amplifier non-linearity consists of amplitude, frequency dependent and phase modulation elements. These elements contribute much to the so-called "tube sounds". In this project, we will create 32 two-dimension membership functions, based on frequency and amplitude information. The Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model is then used to combine these models in order to approximate the best nonlinear behavior of the tube amplifier.
