Abstract: | This project is to study and implement a contactless battery charger. This new design has applications in consumer electronics such as mobile phones, MP3 players, drills and other hand-held electronics. This model differs from other existing chargers in the market because the charged equipment can be electrified anywhere on the specific region, which do not have to be placed in specific location of the charging platform or in contact with a metal plate. The design objective is to ensure a battery, placed anywhere on the platform, can experience uniform flux. Through a series of experiments to measure mutual inductances with different positions, an approximate 3D equation is obtained. This helps to understand the interrelationship between the primary and secondary modules. How the present work that can lead to new models for further research was discussed to conclude. |
